Plantation shutters are the most popular window treatment in Southwest Florida, and for good reason. Their wide adjustable louvers provide precise control over natural light and airflow, their durable construction withstands Florida's humidity and salt air, and their clean architectural lines complement virtually every home style — from coastal cottages to modern estates. At Expressions in Window Fashions, every set of shutters is custom-measured and owner-installed by Tim Bustos.
We offer plantation shutters in three primary materials. Real wood shutters provide a warm, natural look and are ideal for interior rooms with controlled humidity. Faux wood shutters — made from moisture-resistant composite or PVC — are the preferred choice for bathrooms, kitchens, and coastal homes where humidity is a constant factor. Composite shutters combine the look of painted wood with the durability of synthetic materials, making them a popular all-around choice for Southwest Florida.
Unlike off-the-shelf shutters, every set we install is built to your exact window dimensions. We measure arched windows, bay windows, specialty shapes, and sliding glass doors. Our shutters are available in a range of louver sizes — typically 2.5-inch, 3.5-inch, and 4.5-inch — with larger louvers providing better views and more light control. All hardware, hinges, and frames are included in a complete installation.
When Tim installs your shutters, you get the same person who measured your windows doing the installation. There are no subcontractors, no handoffs, and no surprises. Tim has been installing plantation shutters in Southwest Florida homes for over 25 years and brings that experience to every job. Your free in-home consultation includes samples, measurements, and a detailed quote — with no pressure and no sales commission.
